Program Note:

• In three movements, the duo explores ideas inspired by birds. The first movement, Night Creatures: Andante, is set in a forest at night. The second, Hummingbird Dance: Allegro, imagines hummingbirds flying over a meadow. The third, Woodpecker Waltz: con Spirito, uses a twelve-note row with tonal implications to portray woodpeckers.
