The Federation, in association with the Son’a, are researching the unique regenerative properties of a planet that grant the Ba’ku, the planet’s inhabitants, seemingly unending live. As part of the research team, Lieutenant Commander Data suddenly, and seemingly, malfunctions. Captain Jean-Luc Picard and the crew of the USS Enterprise E are ordered to investigate the incident and in the process uncover a conspiracy that could put all of their careers in jeopardy.
